![]() ![]() That way the user would at least be informed that XnView has attempted to load the DLL and why it failed. Suggestion: When XnView fails to interoperate with a DLL located in the PlugIns subdirectory, it would be helpful to have XnView show the DLL in the “Plug-Ins Information” list with an error message in the “Copyright” field describing what the problem is. Unfortunately, I could not find anything that would explain/resolve the problem.ġ) Is there another way to display SVG files in XnView?Ģ) If not, is there a fix for the above problem? When I convert some SVG files to PNG a white background shows as black after the conversion. ![]() There is, however, still one outstanding problem. CS_CGM.dll and CS_SVG.dll did not appear at all in the plug-in list. The fonts of some of the SVG files only appeared as blocks like, so I copied the folders etcfonts to the XnViewPlugins folder and they now appear more or less as they should. ![]() Beside the SVG plug-in, I also tried to unpack CadSoftTools' CGM (CS_CGM.dll), DWG (CS_DWG.dll), DXF (CS_DXF.dll) and HPGL (CS_HPGL.dll) plug-ins in XnView PlugIns subdirectory.Īfter restarting XnView and clicking on XnView main menu “Info -> Plug-Ins Information…”, only the plug-ins CS_DWG.dll, CS_DXF.dll and CS_HPGL.dll appear in the plug-in list.As instructed in CadSoftTools’ ReadMe.txt file, I made sure that there was no CADImage.dll file in XnView PlugIns subdirectory. When I try to open an SVG file with XnView, the error message “ Format of the file could not be determined” pops up.In XnView main menu bar, when clicking on “Info -> Plug-Ins Information…”, the CS_SVG.dll file does not appear in the list of plug-ins.Problem: Unfortunately XnView does not seem to interoperate with CadSoftTools’ SVG plug-in: I unpacked the file in XnView “PlugIns” subdirectory. for those who have yet to check it out- you may find most success by using "Open With" from XnView 1.9x, pointing to XnView MP- to open an SVG image (as i've found it the only way to successfully get MP to "view" SVG at all, but once you get there- you're good to go! do a slideshow, right click, zoom out, do whatever.I have a collection of SVG files, which I was hoping to view and manage with XnView. i'm sure the leaders will have a more informative direction on this topic, once they have time to address it properly. My apologies again, for less-than brilliant feedback. I believe it is also worthy to remark upon Internet Explorer being the lone-ranger w/out SVG support, right? And, although Presto/ Opera supports SVG, as previously mentioned/rambleababled, albeit, it is not a default htmlviewer for any platform known to this luser, so is likely not- ah who knows! Whatever the situation, on whatever platform- i am confident that XnView development has this under control- considering the whole point of MP is to be portable, cross-platform!. Fire / 'monkey / 'zilla-mino- it's always IE, in XnView MP). For example, on Linux, perhaps Konqueror, Galeon, or Epiphany is loaded in which case the WebKit or Gecko native capabilities would probably take over, (as it does by default, InternetExplorer in win while my default browser might be Safari, or Gecko some such. As, besides being shareware, the CADImage plugin is quite bad at decoding SVG properly if at all (those I make anyway) I would suggest supporting SVG, in the vein of BPG support via bpgdec.exe, with rsvg-convert.exe instead. I suspect that XnView MP has accommodations for each platform. considering this seems to be associated w/ the XnView MP integration w/ Internet Explorer v8, again, as tested on Win XP, I apologize for I must warn that this info could not be accurate for Linux, as there is no OEM iE for linux, and i can't speak for OS X. However, in the current beta release, the user must right click to access Zoom in / Zoom out, the built-in Adobe SVG viewer** which appear on-right*-click, not unlike the Adobe (former, Macromedia) Flash viewer controls replace the 'default' context-menu, when the mouse hovers a 'Flash object' from the browser viewport SVG ZOOM IS POSSIBLE IN XNVIEW MP, AND NO CRASH! ![]()
